Check to make sure that any fan override switches are turned off.
Do you have any active engine fault codes?
Is the engine idling at its normal hot idle speed(600rpm), or is it idling fast?
Check that the ac high pressure switch is correctly plugged in.

Horton fan requires air pressure to release.
Build the air pressure up and undo the air line to the fan clutch with the key on.
If air rushes out the fan is mechanically locked and needs fixing.
If no air rushes out, undo the air supply line to the fan solenoid. Heaps of air should rush out, indicating supply air is correct.

Unplug the wires to the air solenoid. One wire should have 12volts ignition power. The other wire grounds out through the engine ECM.

Thanks so much for you help....

I checked to make sure the fan override switch is off.
no fault codes, engine idles at normal hot idle.
checked and replaced the a/c high pressure switch.

I believe the thermostatic sensor has gone bad and will try to located that tomorrow.

The fan solenoid will go bad, causing your problem. I had to replace two within a year once.

Check the circuit breaker, or fuse, whichever it has. Default with a bad fuse is fan on.

Please advise if this is the correct location.
I checked the circuit breaker and fuse, relay, (is it located inside the kick panel in the center by the gear shaft?) Checked it everything looks good.
