Can anybody tell me the part number on the Cat 40 pin to 70 pin harness adapter. My local cat guys seem to know nothing about this adapter even existing.

What does one benefit from a 40 pin (5EK) to a 70 pin like a 6NZ ? Never heard Mr. Haney recommend going that route.

Only thing I can think of is being able to drop in some bigger files that the 40 pin ecm can't handle.. I don't know if thats all though...

What I got from his post was that he wants to put a 70pin ecm on a 1LW thats a 40 pin ecm, thats why he's wanting the harness adaptor.. To install the 70 pin ecm into the 40 pin wiring harness... But lets have Poor Boy explain h:biggrin_2552:imself...

There is nothing wrong with installing a ADEM2000 generation engine in an older truck. In my experience, most of the time someone who is interested in doing this usually knows someone with a grto engine for a good price or found a wrecked truck for a good price or something along those lines.

He will not be able to do this. The engine sensors for the 40 pin 1LW engine will not work with a 70 pin ECM

    brenes-built Thanks this.
