The rates out of the west are cheap no matter what. I live in Utah and see the same thing. However, the rates coming here are usually pretty high.

    jess-juju Thanks this.

Rates can be higher in the west if you want to stay out west.

But we did find a broker offering reasonable rates out of Washington/ Oregon or so he says :biggrin_25511: We shall see when the time comes, not that we would be coming back west more then 3 or 4 times a year!

I ran into an owner operator who used to pull Coca Cola out of Wyoming to Southern California and wine back. It was a regular run for him and paid well. That is the only run he made. He did the same run every week.

For you deck guys and gals..I'm very Interested in step deck. I have no experience but have been driving for 21 years w/ LTL pulling triples and such...I just recently bought my own truck and least on since july w a co in Montana where I live pulling reefer.
How would that work w LS startng out. What advice would you give to me starting out. I would eventually want to buy my own SD trailer.
    Thanks for any input.

Landstar will train new recruits in how to properly secure their load. I ran into one of their trainers in Saint Augustine, FL a few days ago. They were having lunch at the TA. Landstar has an orientation center about a block from that TA. I didn't get into details with him, but I would expect that they will have others at various orientation centers.

G/MAN..thanks for that info. Do they have a program that would train me to move up to lets say heavy haul if I was interested? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there different levels to be certified in to get up to heavy haul?
