I've had dealings with them when I was in the military. I know what some of their trucks haul and if I were you I wouldn't walk to their school I'd run. You can be sure they'll be hauling some of the radioactive material when Yucca Mtn opens. They've had contracts with the government for years and what I've seen the run a top notch outfit. You can pretty much count on them to be working with all those contracts. That's what I've seen.

I would find out which trucking companies use for students. And then I would call those companies and ask what their projected outlook is in regards to hiring any drivers. There is a thread here regarding USA Truck just firing and laying off drivers. I can see more companies going this route in the very very near future.
There is not allot of freight out here right now, and too many drivers in trucks that are not moving, or generating any income. And then throw in the new administration and a slue of new taxes coming down on business, this spells major layoffs across the board. Not a good time to get into trucking. Maybe in six to twelve years at what I am seeing out here, and never seen it this bad.

Kev,
Check with Sage Technical Services (google their site) and see if they have a school in your area. I'm just finishing up at a Sage school in NC and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The cost is about $3,600, Sage seems to be highly regarded in the industry, and most of the schools seem to have very good relationships with recruiters from various companies. Many of the companies that have visited our school will not hire students from any other school and several of them are smaller carriers that you won't likely find running ads and would otherwise never become familiar with.
Good luck,

ask them to see on paper what they will charge you if you need to go to refresher training...curious to know.

that was already brought up in class. you are allowed to come back as long as possiable to practice manuvers,or any other part of the test you can not pass! matter of fact there is a lady whom has been trying to pass her manuver part for 6mnths ouch! my trainer said he told her in a nice way maybe she just aint cut out for this lol. she shows up every day around 1:00 and satys till 5:00 on practice range. trainer said he offered her help, but she dont want any. so he said hell let her figure it out on her own. i was watching her try to do the parallel park omg! she is starting way to far away from the 1st cone. he said she will never get it if she will not let them show her again. anyway im realy enjoying it so far and have learned alot. have a whole new respect for truckers now! nice job guys

That must be the advantage of using the Middleton school, they do not give that privilege at the Columbus Ohio tri state ohio business college location.

6 months.. WOW, that's pushing it. The school I just completed, also allows students to keep trying. However the DMV allows 4 attempts at passing. This all must be done within a 6 month window. If not then you must wait 6 months before testing again, and you must go through the school again.
