My Tandem experience thus far...

    I took my truck to the Charlotte, NC Freightshaker dealership this past Sunday to have the clutch replaced and ended up with an entire (paid) week at home with the wife and kids. Tandem is the only company I know of that will pay you 120.00 a day "break down" pay. Thankfully I broke down 20 miles from home. I love the fact that I'll be getting paid to be home. Granted it isn't as much as I'd make if I were driving, but it sure beats getting nothing.

    I wonder if we spoke during your orientation. I was there getting a "C" service and picking up a new trailer this past Monday....
    Anyway, I'm happy you found the posts helpful, I tell it like it is and it's good to know someone found it beneficial.

    i did speak to a savannah driver up for c service so it is possible.
    i still like this gig except for wheatfield of course,but i cant complain heading to iowa tomorrow and already have a preplan gotta love it..

    Are there any drivers from the Gladwin terminal on line here?
    I live near Clare, MI and have wondered how business is coming out of the north of MI.
    If any of you know anything about the Gladwin, MI terminal please tell me.
    Do they do there own training there or do you have to go to Michigan City?

    orientation is in michigan city. michigan is hopping lots o freight spend majority of my time there and i live in indiana was home at noon today gotta love this company!!!!!

    what is tandem's policy on student drivers just out of driving school. I've been looking at TMC and Maverick. I live in GA how in the freight thru here does anyone know?

    My husband drives for tandem, has for 13 years. those miles are loaded and empty miles.

    they have a terminal in gaylord.. not gladwin. all training is done in michigan city

    Has anything change there such as price of insurance? This sounds like a great company. Do they hire with no experience right out of trucking school? Thanks for any info you can give us.
