Obviously new, perhaps you have seen my other post about companies in Va, Md, and DC, perhaps not.

Before I make a full commitment to getting my CDL and beginning work as a driver, I thought it may be worth a shot trying to ride along with someone. Now, I have read the posts about team driving, and it doesn't really seem to be popular. I promise I have amazing hygiene, even while camping in the woods. Don't ask how, but I manage. I'm a woman and go to great lengths to not be offensive. I won't critique your driving, your thoughts, etc. I will even help for free, I just want to know what I'm getting into before I get into it.

One catch: Unfortunately, I'd prefer to ride along with a female for two main reasons: one, safety (sorry men, nothing personal) and two, I'm sure that women have a different way of dealing with various things than men do. Since I'm a woman, I want to see how another woman does things. Definitely interested in OTR. I will pay my own way, you won't pay a cent for me.

I am open to departure dates. Hit me with your best shot!

I hope to hear back from the ladies! Safe driving!

When I was a new driver and let my wife ride for the first time, she promised to be quiet and watch. That lasted five minutes.

The fight that ensued lasted all day.

In a few days she was teaching me what I was doing wrong.

    That fight lasted for years.

Now we just punish each other for sarcastic fun.

The liklihood of riding with someone is pretty nil....Insurance reasons.

Oh, bummer, even with the passenger policy? Forgive me if I'm ignorant to the rules, I don't know them yet!

Most companies limit riders to close family or significant others. You need to find a woman who has her own authority that will let you ride along. A passenger policy is about a 100 a year, and you only need one, even for different people. DO NOT GET YOUR CDL LEARNER PERMIT BEFORE THIS, as it will disqualify you from a passenger policy in most instances. Good luck!

Just to clarify, any driver can pick up a hitchiker, and many do, or take a friend/spouse without the truck co. knowing. So, don't scratch this off your list just yet, but you will have to look around.
