:biggrin_25510:I FINALLY HAD MY FILL OF RUNNING 24/7 NOT GETTING HARDLY ANY SLEEP. AND TOLD THEM TO SHOVE IT UP THEIR RETARDED REAR ENDS. WHEN ARE THESE CONTROLL FREAKS GONNA UNDERSTAND THAT DRIVERS ARE SICK AND TIRED OF RUNNING 24 TO 40 HOURS STRAIGHT WITHOUT SLEEP OR A REAL MEAL , JUST TO HAVE A JOB. WELL TUESDAY AFTERNOON I HAD MY FILL , UNLOADED IN CHARLOTTE,NC @ 1;30 THEN WAS TOLD TO DEAD HEAD 317 MILES TO THE YARD FOR FREE:biggrin_2556:. JUST TO PICK A LOAD UP OFF THE YARD TO BE IN ALLENTOWN PA. AT 8 AM THE NEXT MORNING. NEVER MIND I HAD ALREADY BEEN UP RUNNING 6 HOURS, NOT TO MENTION A 6-7 HOURS DRIVE JUST TO GET TO THE YARD. THEN ANOTHER 13 HOUR DRIVE TO PA. SO I TOLD THEM NO WAY IN H#@^, WAS I DOING IT, SO I WAS TOLD YOU HAVE NO CHOICE, :biggrin_25516:HAHAHA I'M FREE , AND OVER 21 I HAVE A CHOICE IN EVERYTHING I DO... SO I CLEANED OUT MY TRUCK AND SAID C-YA, ALREADY GOT A LINE ON 3 COMPANIES RIGHT NOW WANTING TO TALK TO ME , WISH ME LUCK ...SO LONG TLS

Gotta stand your ground, you have my compliments. Whenever that happened to me, I told my dispatcher, I can get it there, but just not at your time.

and the thing is they know the regulations of driving ,but want you to exceed them .what gives with those dispatch folk .

One reason i have my own authority ,do when i want and so on .havent had any problems at all with my own boss as me .

I refused back in the day to drive for any co that forces you to the max .

i wont pull a load illegal for no one .im legal as i can be .

I gave up that crapola of killing myself for a trailer load of freight years ago!

Ain't anyone in the truck holding a gun to my head, ain't a dispatcher going to tell me it MUST be there outside of the rules because they can find someone to repower the load OR reschedule it. If he didn't reschedule it I knew how to use a telephone and do it myself. Yeah it po'ed a few off but when you become my employer I tell you at orientation that when I must stop the truck is parked for it's 8 hours then now a sweet 10 hours when the book said to stop.

These idiots who never drove anything larger than a bicycle think they can drive the truck from their desk? Then do it while I go off duty! Those points now come to me and you. I'll keep them away from me you do what you want!

Good for you. Now they will have to pay more to have the same loads pulled legally ...rates go up and we are all happy.

    Good luck from a wanna-be.

With 26 years experience, I imagine you would be a valuable commodity.

Thats where you intentionally pull in to an open scale walk in, get dispatch on the phone, put it on speaker, and explain to dispatch that you are not legal to drive anymore for the day and let the DOT hear what your dispatcher has to say. Then hand the phone to the cop. I would love to hear that conversation. :biggrin_2559:
