Congrads Big Wheeler. My husband is now with his trainer. It's his 1st week out. So far he has had nothing bad to say about Maverick. They have treated him very well. He hasn't been able to get home on the weekends but that is because we are in NC and there are no trainers in the area but we knew this going in. Good Luck.

Thank you. I can't wait to get started. Have been researching Maverick alot and haven't found any bad things about them. I live in Tulsa, OK. and I hope there is a trainer near me but I know that it's possible there may not be. I'm more worried about getting to work right now than getting home if you know what I mean.

You live in a great area for Maverick! Glad you picked us over those guys in blue in Tulsa

My husband drives for Maverick as well. He's in the "Specialized" division which is just a pretty word for...he hauls glass and steel coils, lol. Our first week out, he got 3,000 miles. We haven't waited more than 2 hours for a load to come through on the Qualcomm, his fleet-manager is extremely cool, and he is loving it so far. The training was a huge pain in the butt. I went with him to Little Rock and we paid out-of-pocket for the hotel. They paid us the price of the bus ticket. He went out with the trainer for 2 1/2 weeks. (He also had his CDL prior to starting with Maverick but had to go through training because his last driving job was in 2002). We're from Houston, Texas and there are NO trainers anywhere near us, but thankfully we found one that lives near Wichita Falls who is "dedicated", so he was home every weekend..which meant that I got to see my husband every weekend. The 6 hour drive every weekend sucked but it was well worth it. We really like his new job and it sure is fun to ride around with him all the time. He's making TWICE what he made at his city job AND he gets paid weekly!
Just a quick tip..they only "service clean" the trucks before ya get them, so I'd recommend giving that thing a BIG wipe-down with some Lysol before ya get in it, lol. The guy who had it before us was a PIG.
Anyway...GOOD LUCK! -
I might suggest that if you get a used truck to check and see if the previous driver was a smoker. There are three cabin filters and two of them recirculate air. You will NEVER get the smell out until the recirc filters are changed.
-
I only know of 2 where is the third? I know of the 1 on the firewall and the one for the bunk. -
On my old columbia there was two under the bunk. I dont know if the new trucks are the same.
-
There's one under the hood, too. The other two you mentioned are recirc filters. The cabin fresh air filter is under the hood. This is for Cascadia. I don't know about Columbias.
