Hi everybody. There is a great community up here.
I am joining the forum from Istanbul. I might be the sole Turkish member of the forum.
I work on ocean-going tanker vessels as an engineer. My main goal has always been to settle in Canada and do trucking. In 2007, I went to Canada to improve my English and then try to settle there. I got the A-Z license to get a job offer from a company but, nobody was interested in me, because I didn't have a U.S. Visa. I applied for one, but it was rejected, because I was residing in Canada as a student. In the end, I had to get back to my country after months of try.
Anyways... Now I work on ocean, maintaining the machinery down in the engine room. It is a great job and well paying. But I love trucks, especially American trucks. European trucks aren't just to me.
By the way, I ride motorcycles. Mostly liter bikes.
Trucking has always been my dream...

Thanks for the great advice JohnCooperWorks.
I like working in oil industry. And as everbody knows, money is in oil industry.
As I read in many topics, it is possible to be hired as an unexperienced driver in oil plants right after graduating from a school? Is it that easy really?
Nowadays, I am preparing my paperwork to submit an application for immigration to Canada. In about 1.5 years, I could move to Alberta, if my application is accepted. This is my whole dream.
Even though I hold a Canadian tractor-trailer driver's license right now, I am thinking to register to an approved trucking school (like Thomson River University or MTI), to take a refresher course and update my knowledge of trucking. After graduating from one of these schools, is there high chance of being hired in oil industry? I must mention that I will not have a Canadian Passport for a while, so I may not be able to cross the border for a couple of months or a year.
