last week had a problem with the mack i drive....i press fuel pedal down and it hesitates before engine revs...this makes downshifting a pain in the #####....
mechanic thought it was throttle position sensor so replaced it, however problem is still there....he's thinking it's some rubber hoses in the intake that are weak....
what would that be? i am not all that mechanically inclined with trucks but i want to learn more...
anybody have any ideas/comments?
thank you

Could be a leak in your air charge cooler or piping or, I recently saw one that had the turbo hanging up at low engine speed until it got wound up. Carbon buildup or wear in the turbo. Also check turbo controls for your engine, air intake and filter etc.

UPDATE: Mechanic noticed fuel is leaking. Could this be an injector issue?

Need more info on this leaking from where?
Sounds like you have a fuel delivery issue.
Does it vibrate the truck with the hesitation or is just a loss of power?
Is your fuel mileage off and how much?davect Thanks this. -
Fuel system sucking air or leaking pressurized fuel.
"Fuel delivery issues" like Pablo said.davect Thanks this. -
doesn't vibrate at all...i just does absolutley nothing...i press fuel pedal down to the floor and no response for a good second and then it kicks in...this makes downshifting a pain in the ###...it's just annoying overall.
the leak has to be determined exactly where...mechanic just noticed it was over the block -
What engine? what year?
Pressurized fuel leak may be dangerouse... it is fuel, it is falmmable, especially winter fuel -

Mine does that too once in a while. I suspect it has more to do with the drive by wire system not getting a signal for a moment.
