I think Volvo is much better truck than a IH 9400 and most freightliners. And I have bought a Century Freightline new in 99.
A Volvo is difinitely harger and more expensive to work on but I think they are enginered little better and maybe last longer. I don't think I would have a volvo engine. I prefer and have only run the detroit 60 series engine. -
DO NOT BUY A CRAP er sorry CASCADIA!!! Garbage!! Sooooo glad to be rid of mine. I have friends who swear by Volvos and BIg Bad Bill likes his and they are definetly quieter and have a much better ride than most trucks on the road.
Sal001 Thanks this. -

I cant believe someone(who drove both) can think to compare Volvo with that monstrosity. Volvo has biiiig problems with parts, mechanics and places can be repaired, but to put it beside that can and compare it....that is too much.
There is nothing to compare.
But I have to admit and even suggest something(if I may). For a newcomer I would recomend to start with something cheap and easy to repair. With that FIRST truck u will learn the job. Sometimes u will touch it and scratch it, but who cares. That is it's purpose for. Learn with something cheap and easy to fix. Maybe u wont like the job and wana quit. Maybe u will work in the city. Maybe...who knows what alse. Is not worth it to pay big bucks for an expensive truck as a rookie.
I started with an old Mack and that truck thought me tons of things. I still miss that ugly SOB.Sal001 and lovesthedrive Thank this.
