perhaps they shouldnt keep slowing down and nutering their trucks. And buying POS Volvo's and Internationals. And switching to e-logs. And paying like sheet!

Good Properly spec'd trucks that can do the speed limit, with paper logs, good miles, decent pay, and good benifits and you'll get and retain drivers.....not sure why that is so hard for these companies to figure out.

That's what they get...it's exactly what they get...

i remember about 5-6 months ago or so...or whenever the economic down turn began...
How suddenly truck companies started really upping (upping is not a real word ok)

Their qualifications for drivers...you would call a company or apply on line and look at their 'pre-qualifiers'...and they were written in a way that if you actually had experience...you were eliminated...

For instance stuff like 'must have stable work history'...

Which is code for can't have had more than 4 different driving jobs, or any job over 3-6 years or whatever they decide is to much....

Then they got crazy with fines or infractions (which I have none)...

Then what really gets me is their silly 'must have driven over the road 12 months within the last 36 months divided by time off added to off time verses over the road time not to include local time'....huh?:biggrin_2556:

What I'm saying is...they tried to get so clever, and so specific to whom they would hire, that they ended up turning away alot of good safe drivers do to very minor details...

And now a lot of their trucks are sitting...

Bottom line in trucking and to the owners...you need drivers to move freight...

Your not recruiting for Space shuttle pilots or FBI agents...who must know trigonametry and calculous...

So now, all those stuck up office personel who snickered at drivers needing work, are finding their own jobs in jepordy...cause without drivers they don't get paid and company doesn't make money...

That's why now many people are getting mail notices from companies who turned their nose up to them months or years ago...

Now these companies are saying 'please please come work for us, so I can keep me job'...
