Ive had the opportunity to talk to a few walsh drivers at lumber mills and they all seemed very happy and totally normal drug free people, good attitudes with a mind for saftey. also they seem to all drive updated equipment, never had a problem with them out on the road and i drive seattle to los angeles all week long. seem to be perfectly good safe drivers and a decent company as far as im concerned

Well then you have been lucky because I Keep running into the back of their heavy trucks in the passing lane. Then if you do get one to move over they start giving you the crazy Ivan's like they where training at CRE.

Maybe at the next picnic Mr Walsh can educate their drivers as 2 why WA has at least 3 lanes between most of the route between Everett and Portland. Answer, so I don't have to wait for heavy haul trucks to crawl up the hill.

Now if you want to know who the safe drivers are check out the Albertsons drivers that run that corridor.:biggrin_25514:

Granted I've only been with Walsh for three weeks, but I have yet to see anyone who looks like they have a drug problem. Everyone seems pretty contented with the company and the work, myself included (even though i still have plenty to learn about chip hauling)

Is there really a lot to learn about chip hauling, other than securing your in-cab equipment before they hoist your entire tractor-trailer nearly vertical on that massive thingmejig in Longview? I'm interested!:biggrin_25514:

Biggest thing for me so far is remembering to spread the load out in the trailer so I can get the tarp over the top. I got myself in a bit of a predicament with that last night, loading out of an almost empty bunker. Looks like I need to have some patience and let the bin fill up more before trying to finish the loadout.

Hoisting the whole truck up on the tipper is a fun part of the job! Part of me wonders what it would be like riding in the cab during that.... at the top it must feel similar to being on the space shuttle, poised for launch

I wonder if anyone has taken that ride? Does anyone have a picture of it in action?
