I don't care if mexican truck drivers oprate in the U. S.

I do however feel if they do, they should abide by every law and regulation U. S. drivers are forced to abide by and that Mexico should invest in there infrastructure/safety, etc, allowing U. S. motor carriers to operate in Mexico wihout being robbed.

NAFTA seems to be one sided at the expense of the U. S.

I guess it really doesn't matter though, as the future of the world is in the hands of middle eastern nations.

Simply, we are only a few years away from nuclear explosions. Recently it was finally announced that subs and our missle defense systems in Europe will play even a greater role in US defense.

Enjoy the days ahead as they are numbered.

One concern I believe is being overlooked too is that Mexico's oil reserves is nationalized and the government gets the money. Being that this is the case, I'm almost certain that the companies that are allowed to haul here will have their fuel costs subsidized by the Mexican government therefore allowing Mexican companies to move freight much cheaper than those here in the states. I think we all know where this will lead, we need look no further than the destruction of every major manufacturing sector past and present. NAFTA was and is a losing proposition for the U.S. and neither the republicrats nor the demicans will do anything about as long as thier pockets are getting fat.

It makes perfect sense. Its all about the bottom line for big businesses.

They're not worried about safety.....they're only interested in cutting costs.

Many companies like Walmart are going to make BILLIONS by reducing their transportation expenses. These companies are who is driving this whole deal.

I just don't understand why any US truckdrivers would be in favor of all this..........

For the life of me, I don't understand why our rep's are selling our country down the river. It's not just Mexican trucks but this idea that we can some how come out on top with free trade when other countries are not paying the same wages, employment tax, work comp, retirement, state/federal taxes, etc.

27-billion deficit with china alone, 31-years of deficits, 742-billion trade deficit last year, a mortgaged country, trillions owed in the national deficit and that’s just a start.

Open boarders is desired by more then 50-million individuals living in America in which 20-million want free citizenship but don't want to fight in any war.

America is not the nation of my birth, nor the Henions of the civil war fighting on the side of the union, while the first Henion arrived in the new world around 1642, emigrants the lot of us, from the beginning to the end.

The crime rate in Mexico doesn't compare to that Canada. The Mexican government is corrupt....even many of the Mexican police are corrupt. They are bought off by drug gangs. Plus the majority of the population lives like a third world country. Poverty breeds crime !

Counties Bordering Mexico Have Highest Federal Crime Rate in U.S.

this is all about corprate greed and some millionare that feels the need to be a billionare. the problem here is that any mexican with a 100 dollar bribe in there pocket and a truck that was totaled out in the u.s that has been rebuilt from what ever parts they can get there hands on can be a truck driver . Its funny how when it comes to making a dollar all the safety air quality and liscencingg regulations are thrown out the window by the ones who made the laws, this whole situation is sad. WAKE UP AMERICA! our goverment is owned by rich campaingn contributors, our polititions are scum sucking thieves and those are there good qualities.:biggrin_25518:

You all act like there are 2 million trucks idling at the border.

You are worried about unsafe drivers? Look around next time you are on the road.

Worried about unsafe equipment? Again, take a stroll through any truck stop.

Any truck that comes north from Mexico has to follow the same rules you do, so stop thinking they are going to be a bunch of outlaws.
