I have some suggestions to the problems but I don't ever think they will be changed. No 1. Pay PRACTICAL miles-loosing 10 to 14 percent of miles on every load is ridiculous. I don't think that by the hour workers would put up w/workin 8 an gerrtin paid for 7hrs 10 min. NO 2. Pay detention after 1 hour past appt for both pick ups and deliveries once again,don't think hourly workers would tolerate workin 4plus hrs a day w/out pay. No 3. If company can't do 1 an 2 up our ppm by .08 or more a mile to make up for it,case in point-at .45 cpm I am makin ave min wage to 10$ an hour after I count all my hrs worked,some days its less than min wage. As a libertarian I believe companies of all kinds can do what they want-pay whatevr wages they want cause its their money and capital on the line! In saying that I don't think I should have itr held against me for not being in agrement with what they want to do,I will just go on to something else oh but wait... We have that. Bullshat DAC or hireright held over our head and that changes the game. I also don't believe in companies getting ANY bailouts OR grants even for apu's. truckin will never be fair in their wages paid of course as long as its a performance paid scale and we don't get paid by the hour it will always be this way even tankers,flatbeds,whatever. The oil field trks are makin great money for that reason-by the hour pay,w/ot after 40 or whatever they have set. There is no use in trying to get y'all on the same page,as long as companies hire inexsperienced drivers and low exsp. Enter whatever co name u choose this will continue. I will also add drivers that look like they just got out of prison,(tattooed up including neck and face)nose rings,ear hoops, stinky,dirty an stinky-so fat they can't walk,no teeth,chain smokers,hippy lookin and act like they never went to school at all,steering wheel holders continue to be a big part of truckin this is WASTED BREATH or thumb action rather on my blackberry!!! If this is you-no apology,u are part of the problem and clean your act up!

 

Just a general question for whom ever wants to answer. I have been here only since the end of june 2011. Never had a issue about going home. Been 3 weeks now, I'm in los angeles today and I asked for home time on the 26th weekend. I got told no as I didn't give 14 day notice. Just a question, since when did you have to give a 14 day notice? I have never had to do that till now.

 

Personally I hope your right about the hours of service. The last thing I heard about it is the new rules will be out sometime after turkey day. I know people will sue over it rather its the non trucking side or the trucking side. But I'm willing to bet by at the very least they will be out by the end of next year.

 

i know you where told it was 14 days in orention.....they are enforcing it do to the holidays

 

Gee 14 days thats not to bad hubby was told 3 weeks in advance, also was told to put in home time as soon as he gets his first pp after home time, so thats what he has been doing and so far it has worked. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving

yea apparently im gonna need to start doing that as well, i knew i wasnt going home for turkey day and thats fine, but i scheduled myself for after the holiday. but yea thanks for the advice. will start having to do that

 

Was a fan previously but didn't see as many as I would have liked since they were on late on Sunday in Chicago. The latest ones are wonderful.
