The software choices are only limited if what is available is not serving the need. In using routing software since at least 1998, I have never seen a routing package that can provide the best results each and every time in each and every situation. My present group of options, Qualcomm GPS, Google Maps, Mapquest, and a RM Road Atlas, gives me an average yearly out of route percentage of 2-3% compared to the "computer miles" loads are based on. Two of those options are cost free, and the others are cost effective.
So, my choice in using Mac for my stuff doesn't really limit me. Only if that one routing package can provide tight user adjusted routing, aerial views of locations and roads, detailed listings of business in selected areas, and can do it cheaper than my present options and provide less than 2% out of route capability, thenI might consider changing.

I've used Delorme Street Atlas for years, combined with their LT-40 GPS adapter that plugs into the USB port on my laptop, use it as a map program or a GPS or both. Lots of options and easy to use. Good tech support when you need it too. About $50 for everything.

Beware of the software Truckstops plus add on for streets and Trips. I purchased this off of ebay and it was the biggest was of money. Couldn't get it to work and the seller gets threatning and rude if you try to get help. and no refundsl
I purchased this because I think so much of the program Streets and trips. But this 40 dollar add on is a joke and waste of money -
I would have to disagree, I have used truckstops plus for streets and trips.
Install is straight forward, it is simply a add on to s&t.
I have e-mailed them a couple times with corrections or.additions,.was thanked each time.
I purchased my download direct, not e-bay, and paid through paypal.
I use streets and trips, Google maps, and always recheck with randy mcnally.
Truck stops plus is a good tool for locating truck stops, scales, etc.
Can also use to check for restriction routes, and low clearances.
Also if on internet, can check weather and road conditions.
For me, best 39 bucks spent. -
I really surprised to read that, in how much truouble I had especially in customer service area. After about 5 emails, I was told I need to run with all virus protections off. Was told that I should've used the trial version see if it worked on my computer. When ask for money back, they threaten to sue me if I said anything about them. They make me leary of buying things over the internet. And still haven't gotten money back.
-
I just downloaded and installed the trial versions of both MS Streets & Trips and Truck Stops Plus. I did, as I always do, disable my anti-virus while installing. I've ran the program with the AV enabled and disabled, didn't seem to have a problem.
-
Yea, I got that too, but m streets and trips wasn't the trial version. Then wanting to go futher, I purchased the program (Truck Stops Plus) and then all my problems began. Maybe I should've stuck with the trial version.
But I wanted more.
