I just wanted to say something about this whole USX thing.
Yes, Arnold was bought out. By a larger company, looking to expand interest and gain clientel in the Southeast. Here's my issue: enough with the whole 'they are owned by USX, enough said' argument. Elaborate on that argument. Why does them being owned by USX make them 'suck'? Generalized accusations and labels are lame to say the least. There is no perfect company driver job. Every time I hear a company is the 'worst ever' I later read that the author of the post abandoned thier truck, had a broken back, a slipped disc, or a family emergency. If you do your job well, have a good attitude, don't argue with your DM, and deliver your load you will get miles. Bottom line. There's a reason that for every sob story there's a success story. The difference is attitude. Your DM controls your earnings, kiss his/her ##### if you need to. But bottom line, quit whining about pie in the sky concepts and do your job, you may be suprised at the results. There are a lot of immigrants and unemployed people out there that would LOVE to have your crappy job.

Arnold USED to be an outstanding company.
They started going downhill before USX bought them out.
My CDL is very important to me, and I won't risk it at a company with a poor safety rating.

Beejay: you gonna be there Monday the 8th? I am...and don't listen to the haters. For every sob story, there's someone that got along with their DM and got miles...If you notice, a lot of the negative posts also involve a story about a 'family emergency', the dog ate the quallcomm, an abandoned truck, a curbed rim that wasn't thier fault...what I'm sayin is if you do your job, stick with it, you'll make out. There is no perfect company driver job, and no perfect company. Some are worse than others, but this website will have you questioning yourself and freaking out, because every company is the 'worst company ever'....a job is a job these days, and believe me, there's a long line of illegal immigrants and jobless people without a CDL that WISHED they had your crappy job. Usually people are whining about the difference of a few pennies, and screwed up something that they wanna blame on the company. Some people get worked over honestly, but that's the exception not the rule. I'm gonna make the most of Arnold, they seem honest, I'm gonna try the super regional 2 week run and see how the miles are...Good luck, maybe I'll see you there!

I been with Arnold 2 months so far and they are not perfect but they treat me better than my last company(werner) by far. Not a great company(no such thing) but decent enough to work for until i make the jump to O/O.
