Kinda New Here!

Hello,

My name is Thomas. I am 21 years old. I live in Hickory, NC. I am Married. I have 2 children: Son - 3 years old & Daughter - 2 years old. I will be starting my CDL School on 11/28/11 (This coming Monday). I will be attending Hickory Regional Driving School in Conover, NC (AKA Trans-Tech, Inc). I will be going to school for 4 weeks. I chose the school because of their reputation with drivers that I have had conversations with. The people up there are great. My wife is very supportive of my new career. I am a US Army Veteran. I was raised most of my life in a truck. My father drove OTR for 5 or 6 years, and my step-father has been driving for over 20 years. Needless to say, I have been around the Trucking industry for a while. My step-father is still driving, as an Owner Operator out of Savannah, GA.

I may have just registered, but I have been lingering around the site for about a month, just taking in as much information as possible. I must say, there is a wealth of knowledge on this site, and I really appreciate everyone's contributions. I guess this is all I can think of for now. If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask.

 

It was my pleasure serving our county. I felt that someone needs to do it, so why not me?

I know I will be deprived of some family time, but this is something I have always wanted to do.
