    Got my acceptance letter in the mail from College of Southern Maryland's Trucking Course. My orientation date is December 7th. The first day of class is January 2nd. It's a 7 week course mon-thurs. Im so relieved yet nervouse as crap! At the same time Im definetely excited to be leaving my job as a correctional officer. It's good money but I've grown very miserable in the 5 years I've been here and that'll getcha killed. Looking forward to taking this journey. I know it's gonna be rough at times and I realize it's not for everyone but neither is Law Enforcement so:biggrin_255:. Loving all the information I've received so far wether be it good or bad.

    Çongrats. Just pay attention to what is being taught.

    This industry is no walk in the park but if you stay safe, alert and don't take chances, you'll do fine.

    Another thing to keep in mind is that CDL school teaches you to pass the tests and basics on driving. You'll soon find out that how its done in the real world isn't always how its done in school.

    Like what one of the instructors told me when I took a refresher and retest, "Forget about how it was done out there, remember you have to do it the "right" way for the testing, not the "real" way!"
