you can and should give them two options fix it now, or come fix it here. I will not drive/pull anything that i find something wrong with that isnt legal. I'll go as far as the closest repair shop Period.
Maintance is part of this Biz, if a company isnt willing to pay to stay legal and safe, they are the type of company that CSA is out to get rid of.

As long as the crack in the windshield isn't in certain areas, it is not a violation. Fixing that stuff at the terminal is their prerogative, as they have the supplies and parts there and people on the payroll for that. If it's not a violation, then they have every right to take care of it at a terminal.American-Trucker Thanks this.

It;s funny I was just talking to a driver today, who told me he didn't care about CSA as he could drive anywhere anytime as he could hire an attorney and get the points removed! I didn't see anything about a way to remove points except for time.
Roadmedic, Lilbit and American-Trucker Thank this. -

I have heard of CSA points being being appealed and removed but it's a long process and takes a very determined person to do it .
When CSA started our safety department urged all drivers to sign up for prepaid legal "to protect their CDL" . I responded and told them this was an obvious attempt by the company to avoid CSA points but it was a wasted effort . The citations prepaid legal services handle are not CSA related . Those points are assigned when the citations are written .Roadmedic Thanks this. -
If your above comments are true. The previous comment was TOTALLY uncalled for.
People in bad economic situations and/or desperation mode, make decisions based on their needs and fears.
While I agree that people need to make good judgement calls when a company tries to strong arm them into doing things they don't want to.
Their situation/desperation and NOT the legal ramifications will dictate their actions. And these companies know it. So they feel free to intimidate unknowing, or desperate drivers.
For you or me to turn a blind eye to the almost criminal element that resides in some companies. Makes us as equally bad as those companies.
You'll note: I take a lot of heat regarding some so-called "Great" companies within this forum. And I'll continue to call these so-called great companies what they are.....POS bottom feeders who do not give a ### about the well being of the driver, their family, or that drivers future.

Just one quick side question. Why is it when something happens nobody likes in government its always the presidents fault ? do people not know how the federal government works or how one administration gets stuck with someone else mess ? Ok back on the subject. thank you for letting me interrupt with my rant

im not defending these companies actions, but you cannot put you CSA score on them. You still make the decision to drive it. The was this CSA crap is setup, in order for the companies to get hit WE have to get hit with points too.
Its not right that companies can/do put drivers in these situations like this, but there is only so much we can do about it.
