SOLO than. This guy isn't paying your bills. And it appears, the company might not be either.

Try to stay alive financially and physically then find another company. PAM is a bottom of the barrel company willing to hire anyone that can hold the steering wheel. Get as far away from them as possible. I'm a new driver myself and I have plenty of companies willing to hire me for more money. 36-38 cents per mile. PAM wants me to go on a dedicated run for 14 cents per mile. Mexicans won't work for that. As soon as my financial obligation to the school is taken care of I am gone.
cudafish71 Thanks this. -
guess i see why PAM is advertising in my town and why i wont be looking at them

PAM is advertising in your town because they need drivers. Because their drivers leave them after 1 year and go to another company. Because they are a training company....
There will always be someone to fill their seats, and if they hire someone that costs them too much money, they get fired. When I worked for PAM, I receieved a lot of load assignments that were built incorrectly, mainly including what PAM is getting paid for the load. Take into account what I would be making and you'd be amazed I didn't bother leaving, because the difference was outrageous. I stayed because I knew that every company was the same way, and rightfully so. Sure, I would have liked to make more, but I was making more than enough to survive, while getting my experience to go to another company for better pay. *shrug* -
Just a quick update, I'm starting to average between $400-$500/wk now. I got a system worked out with my DM. When I'm 3 hrs from a receiver I call him with an updated pta and how many hours I'll have left. He gets this info to the load planners and I usually have a new load within 15 mins of my empty call. If I have a 24 hour drop I ask him when would be the best time to drop it and he checks with the planners so I don't drop a load at 0200 and find my new load picks up at 1400 wasting my 14 hours. This new system we have works so well he sent a message to all his drivers asking them to do the same thing.
Tomorrow will be day 14 out since my last hometime with no resets or layover. I drive 325-650 miles a day depending on my hours. -

Well they told me I would be off the truck within a week. Well now its been 6 weeks out and still with the same person. His 6 months is up at the end of Dec so he'll be going back solo.
The running has definatly went up after the first 3 weeks of having to sit all the time. These 2011 International Prostars are crap, leaking roof, no drain in the ac causing water to come out the vents and short some crap out that made the fan run on high even without a key in the ignition and truck off, multiple sensors going back. Now those are straighted out we have an issue with the steering gearbox leaking.
But they have us on UTXL (UPS) crap for the holidays and are running almost nonstop (cept for the 3hr naps he decides to take in the middle of his drive time getting 8hrs drive in his 14hrs) 5400 miles last week. Little less this week since the horsham,pa - cleveland, oh - horsham, pa parts got dropped and are sitting waiting for the horsham to buffalo, ny part of the trip. -
Hey Digger, Its your old friend you taught how to back up from C-1, Wait until you are put on TEAM duty. I have been on with another person from C-1 and they were a pig. Truck was a S$%thole and the person was worse. Thanks to God that I got a diff. parther and we started out shabby and then it got respectable. However, every ten or so days another pile of horse manure ends up in our lap. It took PAM three tries on a certain simple problem to get our truck fixed. Its 1800 one week, 5200 another, up and down and up and down and the DM's are good folk. My first one was a jackhole, Wont name him until you call me, just called your phone and left a vm. DON"T WORK FOR PAM!!!
