No , if Promiles software is used on a trip it breaks down the miles in each state and is accepted by IFTA . Our drivers don't have to fill out state mileage sheets

I have always written down my miles and reported them on a trip report. I've never had a Quallcom or any other babysitting service in my truck.
RickG, how does the carrier account for the additional milesising Pro-Miles? If it's 1000 miles from where the load picked up to where it delivered and the driver or O/O ran an additional 100 miles 'cause they went home for Thanksgiving what does the carrier do with the additional miles @ the end of the quarter when they do a reconcilliation for their IFTA report. -
I've wondered that myself and don't have the answer . They make check the gps records and report it accordingly

We are crossing the state line multiple times daily in the KC area, so I use my trip meter to keep track. And if I forget I just make a educated guess, its not like anyone can really say its wrong.

i have to keep record of my state lines as well. just have a lil notebook and mark the last 3 numb then put in log for later.
since we dont run on qual or pplnet or sat at all.
at first it was a hastle but it keeps me busy -
I write down the last 4 numbers on the odometer at the state line and sometime in the next day or so put them in my Drivers Daily Log and when the last day of the quarter rolls around I print out my IFTA and turn it in.....while the office personal are still ding the company trucks
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
It must be common because the company I work makes us record the odo at state lines too. I've got a dry erase marker but lately just been writing them down on my notepad with a pen. Not a big deal unless the state line happens to be in the middle of a big city like St. Louis or something, where the road is winding and choppy, people are flying by you on both sides, or its a construction zone where the concrete barriers are two inches off the fogline. Then it starts to feel pretty dangerous taking your attention off the road even for a second.

Yea we cant talk or text on our cell phones, But make sure we write down our milliage.
T-RIX Thanks this. -
Im supposed to do it at my company, but I never have. We have a computer system installed that can tell if we are using the seatbelt, horn, how fast we are going, what gear we are in, if the handheld computer is in the handheld holder...If they go to the trouble to make sure Im doing everything right and not driving while distracted, I wont write down my mileage while driving.
