I am going to talk to my recruiter about it. I would like that option but at the same time, if I can't, I know how to find the answer to any of my questions, and I DO know how to use a phone if I have any questions.

Based on all the info I have gathered about Maverick, I believe that they will be putting you with a trainer. They want to make sure you know "The Maverick Way".:Car keys:

When my husband started Mav last year (he had 1 1/2 years experience dry van) he didn't have a trainer. After orientation and training they gave him the keys. It was tough at first but you just have to get use to it.

I agree. The training in the barn is good, but until you get out there and do it on your own, you really do not know what to expect. A week or two with a trainer would be my recommendation.

Well I got through the barn training and now I'm waiting on my trainer. He has been on vacation,he comes back on Monday so I hope he picks me up Tuesday or Wednesday. Wonder if I will get home for Christmas? I live in Tulsa, OK. he lives in Kentucky.

I'm pretty sure you will be home for Christmas. They let my husband come home for a week in NC and paid him. They said there are 2 holidays that you WILL be home for and those are Thanksgiving and Christmas. He should be done with his trainer on the 15th.

Just wondering, we've heard what you have to do at orientation when you get there but what is involved when you test out after the trainer? Is it a 1 day process or take a few? I know a simulator is involved. Thanks for any insight.
