My wife and I dated for 4 years before getting married. You have made it past a few of the critical years. It seems that 3, 5 and 7 years are critical with most marriages. Back when I was younger, I think most people whom I knew that divorced went their ways at one of those points. Most seem to stay together if they can make it that far.

It seems, at least to me, that the ones who want to make it work, most of the time, can. Sometimes it takes more than either is willing to give, but if both are willing, it usually comes out great in the end. I won't lie, it took lots of hard work and determination on both our parts, and no small amount of faith and trust in the "man upstairs."

Talked to him earlier, and he went and visited the Pleasant Hill terminal. Said he found his way there easy and so tomorrow's drive should be a short and peaceful one. His roomie still hadn't shown up when I talked to him about two hours ago. He was headed to bed.

First day of him gone, and I'm sick with a nasty flu bug. My finals are this week and I don't know how Im going to get it all done, especially with being sick, taking care of the kiddos, etc. But, I'll figure it out. I'm resourceful. It will all be okay in the end.

Well, the cold and flu meds are kicking in, so I better get my tail to sleep. Looking forward to putting orientation week 1 in the DONE box. Praying and crossing my fingers that he makes it to Cuba, AL to get that truck assignment. It's been a hard two years of joblessness, and it would be a really rough blow for him to undergo. I believe this door was opened for a reason, so we walk through it in faith....

...sounds like you two have it planned out, now to follow-through with all the "unplanned" for things. They'll come, that you can be sure of, but like has been said many times above, keep the line of communication open and you'll both meet whatever challenges you'll meet TOGETHER, and do well. Best of luck with everything, hope to see more postings!

Thanks G/Man, buddy bill, and ORT Wife!

It's nice to come here when I need a break, and as you can probably surmise from the frequency of my posts, that is often.

I talked to hubby just bit ago. He is on lunch break. Classes are from 7am-5pm with small breaks between. He won't be allowed to have his phone with him after today's class, so I probably will only talk to him after class ends for the day.

Today they went over the company manual, tax forms, and general hiring paperwork. He said they have a packet of questions to complete for homework, which I've read on here is a MUST not a suggestion. Later they will be watching videos.

He finally met his roommate, who he says looks like a cross between his uncle Roy and his uncle's cousin Chick. Talk about an ODD hybrid, if his summation is correct. No real complaints about the roommate other than flatulence and dragon breath! What is with people these days? Anyway, hopefully the roommate gets better not worse. After reading the Werner Trainer horror story, I'm scarred for life.

Well, back to getting this essay out of my head and onto my paper so I can turn it in tomorrow. Be blessed!

Talked to him last night. He's doing really well so far. He passed his driving test yesterday. Passed his physical earlier this week. Passed the agility tests. Got perfect scores on several of his quizzes. I'm not sure what they are doing today, but I'm glad that he is doing well. :) We miss him, of course, but he might be coming home for the weekend. The instructors said they will try to get them out early today, so I'm hoping he could be home by supper. He'll leave back out Sunday to go back for week 2 of orientation, then it's meeting his trainer and 4 weeks of OTR training before he gets his truck.
