    I start my orientation w/ u.s. express on 11-30 I'm nervous as hell. I have worked in corrections for 10 years in just quit the prison to pursue this industry w/o really thinking. I'm a female starting something new right off the bat is kinda scary. But I have no choice but to follow through 'cause I'm dead broke. Anyway I'm gonna quit whining and do it. Wish me luck, any pointers or advice anyone has I'm open to them. Thanks.

    Not true. Out of 50 some odd people who attended orientation in September my wife and I along a couple others were team. The other chunk (75%ish) went solo.

    Nick, I was in the same boat....I just decided one day to go to school and learn how to drive a truck and now I'm been driving for 21 months and I love it!!! Keep a positive attitude and you will do fine.

    I've left for orient. And forgot my medical release from the doc. I hope they'll let my doc. Fax it to em 'cause if not I'm screwed. I'm already starting out on the wrong foot. :biggrin_2551:

    I jus got back to the hotel room, pretty nice but that's not the point. Did all the tests today, agility, road, drug and their DOT physical. Kinda productive day but come to find out there are 75 ppl in the orient. Class before my class (25) that are still waiting to be hired. WTF?! Everything went good with me. Am I gonna have a job? Are all trucking companies like this? If I don't get hired who should I try next? I'm very disappointed
