Forget coleman stoves in the truck. Your just looking for problems doing that. My girl cooks better in a truck than many do in a house. You need an inverter and a Crock Pot that's it. you'd be amazed at what you can prepare with just that. Make sure you stop at wal-mart and get the oven bags they have for crock pots. That way whatever you wanna cook you put in the oven bag first then in the crock pot= no having to clean the crock pot after. Put a nice roast in drive down the road add the spuds and veggies a bit later just calculate the time needed for what your cooking. then stop and have a meal as good as in your kitcken at home. Hint use paper plates and plastic utensils then after dinner walla....no dirty dishes. Continue driving past the greasy spoons along the road with a satisfied grin on yer mug..:biggrin_25522:...Have a nice day...

I run a low watt Electric burner for my grill ham & cheese. I also use a microwave (700 watt) for soup, popcorn and such if you stock up at walmart you can stay out of the fast food places. I only buy coffee in and thats when i'm not fueling at love's. when I run the above appliances I keep my truck running.

inverter and a crockpot is only part of what you can use to cook with on the truck. we also have a lunchbox cooker, toaster oven, coffeepot. i made a nice turkey dinner for us, complete with a cherry pie. yes, some of it took a bit of work, but i always say your creativity is limited only bu your own imagination! so far i havent been able to figure out a way to make my bread and butter pickles on the truck, but i can make those at home and just pick some up when i want them. im just good, ask hubby he will tell you the same thing...lol:biggrin_25525:

I also used the Coleman cooler that someone else mentioned. It worked pretty well for me, especially when I paired it with ice. I would put ice in big zip-lock bags, and the ice was usually good for 2 or 3 days (longer if it was really cold outside). Since it's just a cooler, the ice really helped it be more like a refridgerator.

Search the net for crock pot recipes- anything you can cook in a crock pot, you can cook in a lunchbox oven. Without knowing your tastes, it would be difficult for me to recommend "good" recipes for you. what I think is good might make you gag and spit! :biggrin_2559:

Hmmmm. Stew in a lunchbox cooker.. Might be a bit messy.

Stuffed Portabellas are good. You can stuff them with ground beef, ground pork, chicken, sausage, crab, shrimp, tuna. I am having one tonight I have stuffed with Italian sausage topped with sun-dried tomato pesto and a 6 cheese italian blend. The pesto you can buy at Walmart where the spaghetti sauce is and the cheese is well where the cheese is. You can top the beef, pork or chicken with any of the tomato based sauces you find where the pesto is. Top any of the fish stuffing with pepper jack or Colby cheese. Use your imagination..

no,i mean $500.00.i know it sounds like alot, but i think of more of what i save, and the healthier eating aspect.it;s a real fridge/or freezer with digital temp settings.i set the freezer at +4 and the fridge at 38.plus it only runs when it needs to.

I see alot of talk of converters and crockpots and colemans and hot plates. Is having a George Forman grill unreasonable? (Forgive me if I missed a posted answer to this question)
