$500.00 Parking Ticket!

Extortion.

 

Maryland has always been bad for tickets like that. It's not new. Last time I was told to keep going by the cop when all I had done was stop on a ramp at 2am to look at my map. That was early 90's. I was always lucky in Maryland in that I was always able to LEAVE the state to find a parking spot in another state.

Hope you don't ever get pulled over in those towns, because if they run you, you will have a warrant issued.

 

As ^^^^^^ LSA said get pulled over close to that spot and you'll get a free ride in to pay for it as it's written to the tag and truck.

Whats even worse if you quit or are issued a new truck and the old truck is given to a new driver or the tag is reissued to another truck even the one you just got the same thing happens. You go to pay the ticket BUT the new guy gets screwed and is drug into your nightmare you created.

As to a $500 ticket? That's extortion! I'd be calling the Secretary of States office or the states Attorney General for advice! I might even "get even" and back over a few of those high dollar no parking signs! OR send them a $50 cashiers check and tell them to go get bent in the letter or that you'll try to pay the rest in installments because you're broke!


The last ticket I got was in Denver and it only cost $10 but I got that one because the bobtail was over the line into the spot behind me at the court house while I was paying another parking ticket! I learned MY lesson that day! Park on both spots and feed both meters!

 

Send them a certified UPS package of $500 dollars worth of all pennies. I bet that would really upset them and they cant deny it cause its still currency. just a thought tho

 

My last parking ticket involved the truck being booted and $225 bail being posted. Three months later, I went before a judge and got the whole thing dismissed and my money refunded. Oh, and the judge proceeded to reprimand the cops for selective enforcement, when I pointed out there were 7 other commercial vehicles illegally parked the same night near mine and they weren't ticketed.

 

My last parking ticket was 3 months ago in a area I'v parked for years then I moved to another area where I never had any problems and got ticketed again 100 bucks I know it ain't a big deal but it pissed me off!!!!! I tried fighting it got it reduced to 50 bucks and slowly but surely they drove us out of my home town....now I'm forced to park at the T stop one town over and get picked up. I hate the Fact that my truck sits at the T stop you know the "ol I took your mirror out or a tore up bumper...########!!!!

and they have been for the last 25 years, along that I 95 stretch. I don't drive I95 north of Richmond Va anymore. too much B/S !!!!!!
