I've been tempted by the satellite radio. Which one is better, XM or Sirius?

I do all my web surfing and other business on my iPhone lately. Laptop sits unused for weeks at a time.

If you can find an old radio for either service you should have no problem activating it still. But if buying new you should look at the siriusxm radio with the extra channels. Monthly cost should be the same. Not sure about the radio cost...

    It'll be different for everyone.

If your iphone has unlimited data, I suggest checking out podcasts. There is so much good information out there it's almost a travesty to ignore it.

After being out a long time and missing my family, but still loving the life, this is what it takes to keep me comfortable. http://www.customkw.com/Gallery/?album=all&gallery=1

There is a difference between sirius and XM. You can't get George Noorie on Sirius, only XM. Talked with Sirius to see if I could buy an extra package, but they told me I have to get an XM radio.
So if you're a night driver, as I tend to be, the weird, the wacky and the strange is available only on XM.

As for other items? A micro, a refer, a laptop and of course a phone.

since 06' this was the first year i had a tv or computer in my truck. and that wasnt until ohhh....march i wanna say. i had my laptop though but the power cord and screen went out so it was useless. i had a fridge for sure, make its cheaper to eat and have drinks on board. but the "i cant live with outs" would be, cell phone, big bubba mug, fridge, propane grill lol, mp3 and cds, cb radio with the bungee like cord for the mike. i didnt have a microwave like most. i dont watch tv a whole lot but i got one with a dvd player and had a handful of my fave movies for when i was on a 34 reset or a long shpr/rcvr. i like to get the sleep i need after shower and laundry is done. i was a strict trainer i was told. no tv, no laptop, no phone up front while driving, no gps (yes, i made them actually drive!)....lol. it amazes me that they would get on my truck from another truck that used one and they acted like they couldnt even get out of the parking lot!!!
but it was my apt so i was comfortable with my clothes hung up outside the closet (so not big enough andi hate wrinkled clothes), my grill, spent extra on a down pilow top mattress cover..... i slept goooood! lol

Definitely a "comfortable" mattress. Don't go cheap, you will pay for it in the end. Check out memory foam mattresses, they are the best way to go for your truck.

I'd say a good laptop and a cell phone. With the laptop you can watch T.V. with a USB T.V. tuner or movies with Netfix (internet required) or DVD. Pre-trip with Google Maps or Rand McNally. Down load audio books or E-books to read. Plus the countless other things a laptop is used for. Cell phone don't go cheep but you don't need a Smart Phone, just something reliable that will get you connected to home and dispatch and the customer. In my opinion stick with a quality carrier Verizon or AT&T. A t.v. and fridge are nice but a laptop will be more valuable to you at first.

i spent $70 on the cover and a egg carton foam under that and it was heaven!!! cheaper than buyin a whole new mattress at $350 or better. def spend good money on a pillow. a good one will cost about $40 or more. one that will last a long while without losing shape. i use to go thru the $2.50 and $5 ones from walmart like crazy!! i bought those for the students if they needed them, but not for me!

just remember, dont go crazy on things you really dont need. you need to save as much as you can out there. im a penny pincher when it comes to the needs and wants list, but as a lease op or o/o you have to or else you see no profit in the end. and it canbe addicting out there with all the truck stops and all, but you can do it.
