ThermoKing TriPac

Was at the Dallas truck show last week to look for apu thermo king was around 9,000 and they said about 15 hrs to install. Looked at others and they are anywhere from 6800 to 10000. Awful high price to pay for comforts on the road.

 

You might look at the Carrier APU, it spec's out pretty nice.

Just check on E-bay diesel genset 5000w cost around $700+shipping.IMHO it's good enough for heating or cooling sleeper with any household ceramic heater or A/C unit from Home Depot.With some custom installation of genset on truck frame it couldn't be expensive.

 

I've installed tripacs at the Salt Lake City TK. My honest opinion? They suck!! And whats worse is the guy installing it does'nt do a good job. Management is pushing these things out the door so fast that the tech usually cannot take his time to do it right. Its all about money. As long as you show interest in TK product you will be treated like royalty. But as soon as they have your money...."so long idiot, screw you."
