I know!

The place is a nightmare!

I am bobtail, and bobs are not allowed to park in the main lot. I didn't notice the sign when I first came in, and parked in a long space. But what is a bobtail to do if all the bt spaces are filled?
Last night, when I stepped out of my truck, a driver was looking for a spot and expressed his displeasure with my taking a full space.
I told him that I needed a space and it was the only one available, but that I would be only too happy to move if a bobtail space was available.
He said, 'never mind, you don't want to lose your space'.

So I go inside, noting that there were no bt spaces available.
But when I came out I noticed one had opened up.
That driver was still sitting, waiting.
So I moved to the open bt space, and he got his spot after all.

And guess what?
When I moved to the bt space, there was a LL right in front of my truck.
Kinda scary looking, to say the least. But she did not bother me, so no big deal.


But, the staff has been friendly and helpful. And when I got a shower it was clean.

The 'bad mood truckers' I might attribute to the generally close quarters of this stop.

If all you want to do is scale your load, there is nowhere to park to go in for your ticket. Well, unless you want to block the fuel lanes or scale, or try to park it when all the spaces are likely filled.

I did that the last time through a few months ago. The only other option is to pull around and into the fuel island. And you may end up waiting in line 15-30 minutes. (like I did)

 

Scary looking LL? The scary ones are da bomb!!!!! That just means they are lightly used...

Across the street and kitty-corner from that Pilot, used to be a little barbeque shack called Love's. I thought it was pretty good. And yes, I had no problem walking around outside my truck by myself. Of course, I had a dog on the other end of a leash and probably 100 pairs of eyes on me, so nothing could have happened to me anyway.

 

Pioneer, TN ... headed to Chicago area. Hope I don't get awakend. In the parking lot of a Mexican restuarant. There were 2 trucks here already so I slid in.

 

Yep been there too,also is a chinese place in the shopping center too,which is ok.but I spoiled on "west coast" american chinese so im a snob!

 

40 Miles of Bad Road I'm betting.

 

Ardmore,OK Chilling at this Shell truck stop near the Dollar General here. Beats trying to park at the J down the road, about 10 spots left at midnight and easy as hell to park in. Getting really windy think a storm must be rolling in.
