Yeah your right on the gaming I just don't have time for all that while out here. I would love to be able to play COD out here then the wife wouldn't get so mad when i get home.

Art Bell on XM is what pushed me into the "must have" crowd way back in the beginning. I don't think Sirius was even completely up and running yet.
Noorie is ok, but he is no Art Bell. --I'm sure he would say the same thing.
I went and looked at the SiriusXM site. The programming packages are confusing, but if you ever have to replace your radio take a look at the SiriusXM radio(s) too. It looks like there is a package that has ALL the channels plus some only available on the merged radio.
You can still choose, but it looks like you aren't stuck having to pick XM or Sirius anymore. There is a SiriusXM package/radio that looks like it is both. -
i kinda grew up always having a computer and the internet, i think i would loose my mind if I didn't have it lol. I'm not out there on the road so I don't know how it is just yet but looking into getting a laptop with built in mobile broadband

Depending upon the kind of work I'll be doing once I'm finished CDL school, I plan on taking all my electronic "goodies" including laptop, Kindle, and definitely the iPod. Like someone else mentioned, I too listen to lots of different podcasts and have hundreds of hours already downloaded and ready to go (along with my music). I hope to be able to brush up on my Spanish too if I'm able to while driving, iTunes has lots of podcasts for that and many other languages to download.

thanks, makes sense to me. I am thinking golf clubs are a must once I start to drive solo. thinking drive all night and make my delivery, pick up a load if its close, golf and sleep, shower, eat and hit the road again. In a perfect world..

Yeah, I bet you are right...its a little inconvienence to cook and save your food but you can eat much better. It would be crazy to eat garbage food on the road particularily if you are out there all the time. Eventually, it would catch up with you and harm your health.

I'll have to get back to y'all on this once I finally start driving! However, if I had to guess my definite must have's would include cell phone (Facetime) to talk to my wife and kids. Ipod (Music, videos, movies) Laptop for surfing TTF of course!

lololol thanks for the laugh driver. You should be able to play golf on your 34hr restart, but you aren't going to be picking up loads, dropping them at the truckstop(and hoping they are there when you come back) and go off to play golf, at least as a rookie with a rookie company.

If you go insane, making money doesn't do you any good. Everybody has their own formula. I have all the goodies in the truck but also like to get a hotel/motel about once a week. Yes it costs, but it helps me to keep my space together and keeps me out making money.
But when I started I had nothing. I spent the first couple of years without much and didn't get hotels/motels. I also went insane, figuratively speaking, and came off the road and back etc.
Don't expect this in the beginning, this is my current setup with Sling adapter for Dish network. I get all my channels from home most of the time. Built in fridge is great, microwave not in picture.

Yes, but then you'll be so crazy that nothing matters to you! If you're crazy enough, maybe you'll get put away somewhere and have three hots and a cot, and NO WORRIES!
