I don't know why he would be making deposits on the road but I once won $1000 in a casino and couldn't deposit it until I was in my home state and at the same bank name.

I use TAB Bank which is hooked in with Flyin J. You can deposit funds from Comdata on there over the phone and it posts in about 10 minutes 24hrs a day. No fees and they even pay interest. Can use ATM at Flyin J for free. I like it because I can deposit my payroll at 10pm Wednesday night when they load it on there instead of waiting till next day for direct deposit, since I'm always broke by then. :biggrin_255:

tell him to do a walmart account if he needs access while on the road they're everywhere. if not do direct deposit and when he goes to wally world he can get cash back stay away from comdata as a source because every time he needs money comdata charges a fee. even when fueling.

thanks for all the info..he is doing direct deposit....
and it looks as if we will keep it as it is..wasn't sure if there was a better route or not, with comdata and so forth, but it looks as if it should work..
I don't really understand the comdata deal, but I am sure he will explain it when he can, all I know is his advance was put on that..
    thank you again...

How do you get interest if you are broke the next day? :)

I looked at their website, checking, they still charge $1 at their ATM's, $2 at others.

Savings isn't clear about ATM's, but does say 6 free withdraws a month, then it's a $20 fee each after that.

Since ATM's limit your cash withdraw, how to you get your whole paycheck out in one transaction?? Do you even know what you are paying?? Because you can't get all your money out in 6 transactions a month. Unless you make $500 a week.

In this century, it's possible to split one's paycheck between ComData and the home bank. One can take cash with a fuel purchase and not pay ATM fees at all.

Prime doesn't deposit money? Prime doesn't use ComData?

    Someone should inform these people!

Comdata is a ripoff handling payroll with all the fees. You can do like truckfam says^^^^

Basically a Comdata card has two sides.

One side is the fuel card and your trucking company can load pay advances and other monies on it to pay for repairs and such. You can fill out a blank Comdata check using a secret code your company gives you to put on the check.

The other side of the card is the payroll side and is controlled exclusively by the driver like a regular bank card. They been saying for years they would set it up as a debit card but never have. You can only use it as an ATM card or write a blank Comdata check out and put the card number on the check.

One is best off banking at home using direct deposit, a debit card and online bill pay. I avoid ATM fees by getting up to $100 cash back at Walmart. Some grocery stores you can go to the service desk and get large amounts back. They just ring it up as a sale and cost you nothing. My last big one, I got $600 at no charge.

One that uses ATM's regularly can spend $500 a year easily in fees. I'd rather play the game and save that $500 if I can.

I have used TAB bank for the past eight years. Wonderful customer service available 24/7. I have never waited on hold longer than 2 minutes. Always prompt and can utilize services at Flying J now Pilot.
