I think your confusing the Connex 3300 Rebel Face with the General Lee...Connex had a 3300 that had a rebel flag that went across the whole face, and they are still available, but I'm not sure they are still making them.

As for the General Lee...I did some research and from what I have found on the General Lee radios, is they still have the small Rebel Flag near the channel display, but may or may-not still say General Lee under the channel selector.

It could be that since they came out with the New General HP 40W (100w pep) radio, they may have just dropped the "Lee" and just call it the General HP...

The General HP 40W does not have the Rebel Flag, but the other one that just has dual finals still has the flag.

Curious to see if the General Washington still says "Washington" on it...

I am not confusing anything. I talked to the Mfg people. I have known Mr Ping for decades. Knew him in his staying in H.K. days as the feds were using the IRS to go after him in attempts to stop his importing all those exports. Before the treasury dept went after him which prompted the name Mirage, and all the details behind the scenes. The very first General Lee model came out with a face very similar this Connex CF. After a period of time whatever idiot suit in marketing who made that PC decision was either replaced or had his head examined for changing the face because they are now no longer caring about the unnamed group which had made the complaints. But I have not been in the retail end of it for a few years now so I don't pay attention to what models are still made or not made. Other than I have seen some recent ones with the flag cross like this CF. Anyway all that complaint stuff happened a few years ago. Now they don't care. Good for them enough of this PC garbage anyway.

What you bought is a General HP not a Hp40 ...... there's a big difference..... the hp doesn't have a heat shield the Hp40 does .... easiest way to tell

The new General Lee is the same as the old General Lee with some differences. No 10 Khz switch, and no confederate flag next to channel indicator. If your radio says HP than Jesse James is correct, in that it is the new General Lee 40 High Power (which puts out 100 watts once peaked and tuned correctly). These 10 meter radios all need peaking, and tuning out of the box. If this is not done, you lose performance, and the radio is not at its full potential.

Learn something new everyday! Never seen a Gen. Lee with the full face confederate flag like the Connex version...wouldn't mind having one either! I have seen the aftermarket faceplate stickers you could get for the Lee tho that looked like the CF, but never one from the factory...

image.jpg This is a original General Lee
Bought new some years ago from Sparkys in Il. I think the full face flag units were done with aftermarket faceplates. I recall there was quite a selection available when I got mine but $12 too rich for my blood.
