Most generally when your moving nobody can even tell your on the phone. I see this being enforced in accidents, city's, constuction zones and where ever else you are driving slow enough for LEO'S to see. Just easier with bluetooth.

You would be surprised what you can see in a truck when it is moving. You can see a lot while sitting in the median or shoulder. Even more surprised when I pull along side of a truck what I have seen. :biggrin_25524:

But, even if the LEO claims to have seen you using your phone, do not admit or deny anything. If they want to see the phone, then do not consent to any search. Even password protect your phone so that it cannot be searched easily. You do not have to consent to any search and you do not have to incriminate yourself. Maybe you were guilty. So what? Make the LEO prove that you were guilty. Be polite, but respectfully do not consent to any search and provide no information they can use. An unreasonable search can be thrown out in court, even if you are guilty. And the hassle it would take to get a court order to to force you to provide a password and allow inspection of your phone may not be worth it along side the road. True, they wear the badge and the gun and can do whatever they want. Just don't help them do their job. We pay them well enough. Make them earn their salary. Amazing what a lawyer can get thrown out in court if you just keep your mouth shut.

Tons of studies out there that show blue tooth devices do not make cell phone use any safer....it isn't the fact of holding the phone that is dangerous it is the conversation itself. Face it it is only a matter of time that cell phone use will be banned entirely.

What studies? I've not seen any. As a matter of fact, I've seen just the opposite.
    Sorry. I don't buy it.
Yes, drivers may be distracted while on the phone, bluetooth or not, but a bluetooth doesn't restrict your range of motion while holding a phone to your ear and it leaves both hands free. Certainly much better.
If a driver is prudent and uses a hands free phone for necessary communication, I see no problem.

There are more of you around that will be happy for more government.

Keep thinking this and you might even find them banning it from your bunk as well. After all, you were supposed to be sleeping.:biggrin_25518:
