:biggrin_2551:I tried to control the world and other people too!!! That sure did not work. Hope the trucking is going well and liked your tag (tell your wife she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck). Lack of Power-AMEN & thank God for AA but whatever works for others I guess is OK for them but I will stay with the program and people in AA. Later and thanks.

I see alot of mobile chapels on the road,
A lot of churches participate in AA here
at home. I think that a little education
and the opportunity to save souls would
convince most of them to participate.
After all this is the Lords Work.

New to trucking. In fact haven't really started yet. Have only just gotten my CDL.

I'm a member of another unrelated message board. Over there I started a thread on this subject 3 yrs ago. Still going strong. I now sponser a guy in Poland. By Skype. This is one avenue of many to be able to stay in contact with "our" people.
The central office in my area has a 24 hr manned phone line. Expect I'll be using it.
Online Grapevine subscriptions are now available with archived editions too and the internet is open 24/7.:yes2557: Which is a good thing with th eirregualr schedule I expect to be keeping.

This far I've not been as concerned about my sobriety and trucking. One thing I know for FACT is without the help I've received from HP and AA what I'm about to get into would never been possible.

There is a meeting schedule available from GSO/AAWS in NY for North America, but online may be just easier all the way round.

How about a thread with meetings close to the truck stops?
I've been a friend of Bill's since 10/24/86. Have called about a few meetings but never could get anyone to come get me. Most guys just talked to me on the phone for a bit and that was ok to.
    Great thread btw.

good idea about a meeting thread.

    Question,

when in a T/S how long if at all do you have CB on?
Has anyone ever used that as a means of getting together for an impromptu meeting? If so what has worked as far as wording?

Maybe when the others pop back in we can get a phone list together or something of those here who are willing to be on a list?

I would be , but I'll tell you , I dont answer #'s I dont know so be clear in your message!!

Congrats on the 26yrs buddy.....and trucking would be a good choice as I don't drinking as an issue out here. For me, it is the last thing on my mind and i never even think about having a drink while working. It just does not go together so it may be a good field of work for someone in AA. Also as someone else stated, you can attend AA meetings in just about any town and who knows, maybe you can help some people out here on the road while you are at it.

Either way, best of luck to you and all you do. Keep up the good work!!!

If I were able, I'd bobtail to meetings, but I can't claim to be using the truck as my POV. I thought maybe I'd get a folding bicycle to stick under my bunk for such trips. Once there , I could probably get a ride back to the truck stop. Btw - one day at a time since 12/3/07. Wonderful way of life. Wouldn't have the option to get a CDL without it! Certainly no hazmat end. or passage thru Canada!
