when I did it you did the simulator and then you do a map test and I believe a written test on securement and possibly some other things.
It is easy and you should have no problem with it at all.

The reason i ask is i got approved to work with maverick, just wondering if if they actually train you good til they know you have it or if they just put you in the truck ready to go

Broland--My husband is in his 3rd week with a trainer. He was fresh out of trucking school. They told him he should be done with trainer on the 15th but if he thinks he needs longer then that was OK.He hasn't found anything bad about the company yet. They have a really good training program. We live in Denton. He went to the flatbed division.

Did you go to Cross Country on Hwy 109? That's where my husband went. They trained him really well. Had a friend that went to the one in Asheboro that placed him with a company. That went horribly wrong. Good luck to you.

My husband is with Maverick in his 9th(?) week in his own truck. He was with his trainer for 6-7 weeks. Was a very good trainer from what I understand. His trainer now works as a dispatcher out of the NLR terminal - I think my husband was that trainer's last trainee. Trainer would not let him out of trainer's truck until trainer was sure that my hubby was able to handle his own truck. So, I feel like Maverick trains their drivers well. My hubby was basically a newbie to the OTR world - had worked for TMC for a short while in 2006 but had problems with TMC wanting him to work illegal then he worked for an armored car outfit in the meantime as both a driver and an armored car guard/ATM repairman.
