    It's a 60-day bumper-to-bumper warranty on used trucks provided by Prime. There's also an allowance provided for the tire escrow based on the amount of tread left on the tires... that way you won't go bankrupt on tires.

    All tractors are cleaned and detailed thoroughly before they are turned over to leasing. Its a little more difficult with the flatbed and tanker tractors because of the additional equipment that is installed to support their ops... you're more likely to get a short lease through them than on the reefer side.

    Looking to move to Prime F/B in the immediate future. Drove F/B for six months with another company, but couldn't get any miles. I'm willing to drive and work hard, have no problem with going out with a trainer, just need a place to do it. My only request is to be home for my kids every other weekend. Anyone know if that is feasible or if I need to go find another company that will hire me on a dedicated route? I'd prefer to have a driver opinion before I talk to recruiting tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help in advance. I have tried to read through most of the threads here, but eventually my eyes got tired. :)

    Not too likely in the near term I'd imagine. I have a friend who stumbled onto a regional flatbed load here that had him home 1 to 2 nights a week with excellent income for a lease driver... but he also had to put his time in doing the 48-state OTR gig for some time before he got it.

    To whatever the whiners name was, GET LOST.
    Prime does have a flatbed regional run, but its in Texas. Don't know too much about it as I'm interested in otr. Not sure about anything in California, though we do have customers there.

    That's the official regional flatbed operation... not what my friend was set up on - and nowhere near Texas. He'd also been with Prime awhile when he landed on it.

    You are clueless. You was on a trainer truck and been giving out advice. Do yourself a favor and learn to listen. You might actually learn something. You have no freaking stick time. The guys that have been giving reliable info have more time in a truck backing up than you have going forward. I am sick of you and I am done with this site. Tired of trying to help new drivers start out right. Guys like you have no clue. Let all the wannabes get their intel from you from now on. Maybe down the road they will figure out they should have listened to someone with some knowledge and experience. You ought to change your username to openroaddumbazz

    ive picked up from california steel(coils) and another place in fontana i cant remember the name but got a steel load from there that had to be tarped and theres a lowes dc we deliver to in beaumont(delivered 2 loads from charlotte pipe there) very strict on appt there

    Notarps... you and I have gone around about things for quite awhile, but here's an observation...

    These "newbs" have been doing all right. They pick up loads, secure them safely, deliver their freight, and do all right. And seem to be quite happy about how things are working out.

    OTOH, you can't manage to keep it together here for more than a few weeks. Maybe you ought to take some pointers from them.
