Seen one slick lookin purple Pete from the Elite Hopper Fleet based in Goodard, KS today. He was south of Alva, OK either loading or unloading at a farmers grain bins. I don't think he was to happy because he was spinin in the mud trying to leave.

LOL he was on the phone to me the other day bragging about his new super singles...wonder how they do in the mud? He was loading. Backhaul is still scarce down there. Usually we try to stay away from the farms, but, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Yeah they're all going to get rich on all that oil money...at least that's what they like to spread around. Guess they've never heard of an oil boom, and bust, before. Since they're the last ones to the party, I imagine they'll be the first ones to get told to leave. I can't speak for J&B, but Heimerman is hauling to Anthony where they're stockpiling it at the truck repair shop north of town.

Yeah I know they guy that owns the shop and he is leasing his property. They were getting the rock over at Cedarvale for the stock pile. I was just surprised to see those guys pulling belly dumps with those shiney flat top Pete's.

I had went by their earlier and noticed a local Enid grain hauler with a big spread axle midds trailer at those bins. He had just pulled in. What surprised me was he was pulling a old steel hopper and know he has a big shiny trailer. lol

Super Singles are nice until you blow one, then all the money you saved on fuel or weight just went out the window.

Been wondering about something and have a question for you guys. Why is it that every hopper I see has 11R24.5 tires? Maybe there is no answer. Only reason I can figure is maybe a tad more extra ground clearance? I was just wondering is all.

JnB usually pulls hoppers..think they have three or more trucks. Makes it tough for you guys down there. Guess you're right some of the southern ks hopper guys are pulling dumps now.

Don't really know but would guess like you said ground clearance. I went to LP 24.5 and haven't noticed much difference.

Check this out last week in Holly Springs, MS - freighthauling adventures. Last week of November. Snow in MS! I wake up and this is what I see. I have a feeling it's gonna be as bad as last year. I had to spend the night at mile marker 119 headed southbound on I-81 in VA last year a couple of weeks before Christmas one friday night. Only had two more big hills to pull before cresting in Christiansburg unfortunately there were lots of Roadways, Conway freights, Fedex freights etc pulling doubles that night with very little weight on who couldn't make it up the hills so there I sat for about 12 hours. Kind of weird to sleep on an intersate..

That's pretty much how I feel about them too.
