Can you set-up direct deposit with just your routing number and checking numbers? I have an account that I never use checks for and never ordered checks. I just prefer debit card over checks.

The deposit requirement was trifold.. right now he is getting the advance, it was put on the comdata card, he needs to get that into his regular bank account to pay his bills,(what little he has)..taking the money out at an ATM is not a problem, getting into your account is..
Also I work for the Airlines, and travel a lot and I have had many situations where I have taken money out for trips or items I plan to buy on a trip, and I find I did not need as much as I anticipated, or I was unable to get the items and I was left with a larger sum of cash then I really wanted to carry around and had no way of putting it back into my account..and then lastly there are the times when you are running short, either your direct deposit was later then you thought,or you made a mistake on your calculations, or forget a purchess and discover you have had an overdraft, or will if you don't get cash in quick, those moments are when you need an ATM that you can deposit in, because if you have an overdraft, you get the OD fee, but then if you don't fix it fast (3 days i believe at our bank), it is a $5 a day charge untill you bring your account up to date. and being unable to depost $$ when you have it in your pocket and getting charged all the fees on top of it, really bite's bigtime..
so I am just trying to figure out different angles, just in case....
I also did look at that bank and they do charge for each ATM use,,,bummer too, because that sounded good...

I said they pay interest. I don't get none. I meant you don't have to pay the $3.50 or what ever the ATM charges.
Yes I know exactly what I'm paying. Nothing. I use the debit card for everything and if I need cash I get it when I buy something. I have some bills that come out every month then if anythings left I transfer it home to my savings account, which also doesn't cost anything. I've never paid them a fee for anything in 10 years or so. Well except that one time at the casino....

Setting up a direct deposit takes a minimum of two weeks - two full settlement periods. Until that time your settlement will either be directed onto your ComData card, or sent to your home of record as a check - your choice.

As for bills during this period... you can access funds from the ComData card and send a moneygram from Walmart via the mail. Its a pain, but you can do it - and get a semi into their parking lots.

WM moneygrams are the easy way to get money home if you have to. We've done it a time or two. It does cost you something to send money, just an FYI.

You could also pick up comchecks. All truckstops usually have them. Then he could send ya money that way. Till his direct deposit sets up.

Most truck stop atms are the generic ones with high withdraw fees. So only recommendation on a bank is one that reimburses you for withdraws.

All honesty though. The 200 advance can go by pretty quick on the road.

He can always get cash back from Walmart if he needs to. Also consider credit unions. Most of them no longer have very limited membership, they charge much less than banks, and are more "customer friendly."

I am going from memory here but during PSD (The 200 a week loan) it all goes on the comdata card as he is not yet an employee so no bank DD. once pass cdl and actually hired on then DD can be set up. At that point TNT phase you can split with the comdata card. Comdata charges every time you take money out even checks.

But when you become solo you can take out advance (be careful of advances) while fueling and if at prime network the cost of the advance is not charged to him as long as it is done at the pump. It is a limited amount. FYI we all use different systems for handleing cash. Me I have whole check DD into BOA then use my atm at walmart and take out cash iff I need it and use the debit card and on rare occasion when I am low on cash and not looking like a retailer is handy I will take an advance at the pump but that is rare.

During PSD if he needs to chet $ in his bank the best option might be to have someone at home get some comchecks from a TS then load the check with $ and have the home person deposit it into his bank
