Any company that intentionally makes it hard to get detention pay is no more than a thief in my opinion. I ran for Roehl for two years and never once was paid detention. I went thru all thier hoops and it was always denied because they would claim the customer would not pay. I have been at SNI now over a year and I have claimed detention several times and all I did was call my DSR explain it and it was on my next check. None of the stupid steps roehl forces, Roehl really changed ask all the O/O's that are leavung because Roehl feels as though they are entiltled to make a profits off the O/O's fuel purchases. ROEHL IS NOT A DRIVER FRIENDLY COMPANY. Just because your DSR is nice to you, it doesn't change that fact. They like new drivers because they don't really understand the industry and allow low per mile pay and all the other ripoffs Roehl will pull on them. Just look at your starting mileage page IT IS VERY LOW.......

This is interesting, I thought detention was something Roehl promised the driver, I didn't know it was something of which the driver gets a cut IF the company can collect. In my case, it was supposed to be a drop and hook except Roehl didn't have empty trailers there. I know the customer wasn't paying detention. I wonder if the person I talked to in payroll reached into her hat to pull out an excuse and grabbed the wrong one?

Two years and no detention. The apologists don't like it when you talk about simple facts.

I can't speak to any of that. I'd leave too if I weren't being paid what I was entitled. Glad things are working well for you at SNI. It was my experience that my drivers all got paid their detention when it was due. Sometimes there were payroll issues, but typically that was something that I would handle for my drivers (well at least detention issues).

For the record, I hated new drivers too much work. But I agree with you there, and they seem to be forcing them thru orientation (phase training) quicker than they should. Although to be fair, I'm speaking out of school because I don't really know anything about those practices.

man I missed out on quite a bit of trolling while I was drivin'...man now I am behind...

But getting stuck at a shipper or a reciever sucks...and being there for enough time to complete your ten yeah that sucks too...when i am waiting for more than 3 hours I go take a nap...cause if I get my 10 I can burn down the road...sometimes I will take my 10 on one end or the other to set me up for some decent driving, or to avoid Rush hours....
But hey to each their own..... Keep on Trollin'

I'm starting orientation Monday too, not Roehl, no offense. If he is in my class I wonder if I would be able to spot him?:biggrin_25512:
