B.S. in there advertisement for OOs, top OO gross 248k, lol, run all you want, hahah, its hard to compete with company trucks at malone, the company trucks i refer to are the lease operators, they are on auto dispach. they get loaded b4 OOs do, the agents are so lazy...when you go into there area, they look at your state or residence and see if they can get you a load there even if you just left home and dont want to go back,

Yes you compete with Lease operators that rent trailers from agents. But DO NOT rely on them to help u. I haul majority of brokered loads not CRST and I'm still doing way better then I did at MERCER ...I get all my loads and do not wait for agents to help. It does suck that some agents rent trailers and take care of their on trucks before owners like me.that own my own trailer. But oh well who said trucking is fair ???? Get your own high dollar freight !!!

I never felt that I was competing with lease operators when I was with CRST Malone. Most of the lease operators ran out of Rockport, as I recall. I did as well or better than most, but I am one who tends to be very proactive when it comes to running a truck. I did have a good dispatcher, but I got a lot of my own loads especially after I was there for a while and learned how their system worked. I was not that particular about where I ran or what I hauled. If you are very rigid about where you run or what you haul you might have some difficulty doing as well with them. According to what I have been told by them the fleet average is $2/mile. That is pretty good for leasing to a carrier.

We also get our own loads. We do get in trouble, at times, for not going home.

CRST Malone will give fuel advances once the load is on the truck. It is up to the owner operator or lease operator as to how that money is spent. It is not smart to sell fuel from your own fuel card. It becomes a problem when you are a driver working for an owner operator and sell the fuel. The holder of the card only has available what cash is on the card. It is usually only enough to buy fuel to get the load delivered.

So what has been your average gross per week with CRST Malone? Where did you go? I am in the process of signing up with them and I have 3 trucks.. 2 flatbeds. I just needed a transition Co to run my trucks while i come up w/ the capital to branch out on my own... any suggestions?

Our revenue was 167,000 last year. My mom had cancer and we stayed home for months. The year before was 145,000. We own our truck and trailer. We used to run our own company.
