As far as Texas you'll have a chance to make more money with sand but there's alot of scumbag owner operators out there with sand. Most operators want you to stay out for atleast two weeks and most guys I've talked to say its very hard to run legal. I work for a water hauling company and I like it because I sleep in my own bed every night. I gross about 2700 every two weeks but I'm pretty much topped out as far as pay for my area. The large majority of oilfield work is not nearly as demanding as people make it out to be. Unless you work on a rig the majority of your day will be made up of driving and waiting.

I work at 3 star daylighting. We have more work in the barnett shale than anyother company. To me it's one of the best waterhauling companies in the area.

With any job prospect you need to be cautious. The reviews sound sincere, but they are anonymous. And there are 2 sides to every story.

So yeah, be cautious. But anonymous yahoo reviews? The 1 positive review sounded genuine too. --mentioning a raise would be nice sounds real to me.

Plus I give a contributing member of TTR (me99) a lot more merit then those yahoo's.

If you stay away from every company that has a couple of bad reviews you will never find work in this industry.

Waterhauling is a very competetive part of the oil and gas industry especially in the barnett shale. I know for a fact we do everything we can to run legal and never charge for more than we haul. That would be stealing and you would have to be an idiot to think you'll make more money stealing or never get caught.

And like someone else said if you shy away from every company that has a bad review you'll never have a job. There are issues with this company like anyother but most driver here make over 50000 a year and sleep in there own bed every night.

What kind of hourly rates are you getting for water drivers in the Barnett?

I see. You are outside of the Dallas area.
I want to get a job hauling water but if i go to Texas it needs to be around the San Antonio area. Don't know if there are companies there that work in the oil field, that why i was curious to ask you. Sounds like you are doing well.

I drive for a crappy company right now and there were a few bad reviews about it here and no good ones. I decided not to listen since it wasn't a whole thread but tbh everything that i read here about this company turned out to be the truth. I guess its just the chance you take and like scott101 says if you are too cautious then u won't work at all. I will say i am getting sick and tired of driving for bad co's tho. Its been 3 in a row (they have all been otr).
