So your just very picky, and wait for a good paying load?

 

Not so much picky I would assume. There's a lot of good paying loads on the board. I'm sure he just patiently waits for the regional stuff that pays well to pop up and grabs it. The load alerts system probably pops him a message when one is posted so he can call it and get it.

 

I've always played with the idea of buying a truck. But I'm interested in 48 states. I know at Landtstar, its as close to running under your own authority without having to.

Is it possible to in the southwest and make good money in the VAN division?

 

As with anything in trucking...it varies. I know I've spoken to many BCO's who only run CA, AZ, and NV and from the sounds of it make a good living. I'd try to talk to some of the BCO's in the area truck stops and see what they say. Some may tell you yes, and some may tell you no simply to keep you from getting into their great gig they have going.
