The guy is full of it. You can look on google earth and find 910 and Oak Road.
It's about 2 miles outside Bairdford, PA and 10-12 miles from Tarentum, PA where he was delivering. There's a sign right there where you turn that says NO TRUCKS.
He's trying to lie his way out of it. Even if local deliveries were allowed, it was for Bairdsford and not Tarentum. That's funny.
You look on a map, 910 runs right with the PA Turnpike. He was dodging the tolls and instead of running 910 down to 28 and back up like he should of, he decided to take a shortcut over to 28 to save about 5 miles. I didn't see any bridges, but it's all residential.
So you see the NO TRUCKS sign... but my trucker friendly GPS said it was okay.
All I can say he is stupid and gives us GPS users a bad name.
I bet he didn't even call for directions in? Especially PA, you always call.
Yes, the fine is way too steep. But than again, PA is full of political crooks.double_r Thanks this. -
Oak road has a sign as soon as you turn off 910 that says "Weight Limit 10 tons". There is a VERY WIDE dirt lot on the right that he could have turned around in. I deliver to a customer on Oak road. It is residential and also has a golf course on it.
Driver said he uses PC Miler and that it has Haz-mat routing, if that was the case and he was hauling Haz-mat, then PC Miler screwed up by making him turn onto Oak road but at the same time it did right becuse Haz-mat loads can not run 910 past Oak road to 28(big sign that says that too). Should have just ran 356 out of Butler and picked up 28 south to Tarentum or stayed on 8 south for 2 more miles and picked up the pike and ran east one exit to 28. -
The sign was blurry on google earth. But I could still tell it was a truck restriction sign. Thanks for the first hand knowledge!
You can't trust a GPS, even a trucker friendly one so they say. They'll program all the big towns in, but they miss all the little town and country restrictions. You still have to do your basic trip planning and use the GPS as an aid only.
The guy knew he was wrong and just got caught.double_r and truckerdave1970 Thank this. -
Ran a route(using Streets and trips) from the corner of 910 and oak road to Tarentum, PA. 20 miles. Says to use 910 to route 28 and go north. Ya. Real local delivery.
I can't even get away with that and I am a local driver.

.
Your welcome.
Suprised his PC Miler had a hard time routeing him from Butler, PA to Tarentum, PA. Many truck routes from Butler to Tarentum. PPG has a huge plant along the river there and so does a few other companies. -
man..... you guys are good, sniff out a bs story from google sat, I'll be watching my p's and q's on the forum for sure.........
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -

And stop pickin' your nose while you drive... we can see that too.
volvodriver01, truckerdave1970 and Hardlyevr Thank this. -
Yep, sounds like the guy is wrong. But $31,000 wrong? A guy could accidently kill somebody and get off cheaper...
truckerdave1970 Thanks this.
