experience that will help you on the road I'm sure. In the meantime yu can continue applying and researching. After that long it might be temptingto go with the worst just to get in. Be patient and make a move that suits what you want out of it.jet460 Thanks this.

Yeah, I've investigated those prison camp training facilities like CRST and others offers. Looks very unpleasant. I don't think I want to owe a carrier anything. I think they are just selling loans and giving people a crap job that they will quit, and then they still owe the money. Probably a great way to keep a cheap labor pool.

I would try the contruction companys,,,
They need somone with a CDL period,,,, if they give you a letter then they can say that it is not needed. No leaglily obligated to hire you.
They need to have somone drive a B class. Then might attach a trailer,,, Technically needing an A
Since they don't want to pay anything, $10.00 Then they would be interested. -
Based on the lack of sucess you've been having the best bet is too contact Werner or Swift.
If those leads crap out start writing, visiting, and calling construction companies, farms, or trucking companies or any one in business that utilizes tri-axles, straight trucks, or farm trucks in Modesto, Ceres, or Hughson.
If the trail runs dry near where you live try branching out to other central valley towns and do the same again. If those are also all dried up seek out companies in other conuties or even other states. At some point you will find someone that is willing to offer a pre-hire letter to you. -
I tried an app with Swift through the school. Still waiting.
I have resorted to calling up a few companies and talking with a live human. I actually got a sympathetic response from one bay area company. That might work. A recruiter at CR England said she would try to help me after verifying my crim history. That surprised me considering most of the recruiters I have talked with just want to sign me up for company training. I'm not about to join the OWS protests
..haha...I'll just keep trying and trying...like you are supposed to to in the USA.
Something has got to give. -
Try the standard companies that hand out prehires like popcorn: England, Swift, Werner, Central.
Prehire letters don't guarantee you a job. Just one if you meet all their requirements.jet460 Thanks this. -
After you fill out the info online you need to call them. Call and you will be able to speak with a human. I have learned that if you don't call the company after filling out the online info they may not call you. CALL Swift and tell them you filled out the app online and you want to know what your next step is.jet460 Thanks this.

Yep, I figured out that online apps go to a recruiter or under the ocean. I am following up with phone calls now.

Sell sell sell and follow through. If you can wait til your record is clean thatll help. Drivers are a dime a dozen and companies know this and use it against us. I've had issues finding a job because of an accident I had but finally found a local company that took a chance on me. Don't give up if this is what you wanna do. It will eventually pay off. I know TMC and Maverick hand out pre-hires pretty openly.
