After waiting all day for my 2200 appt at taylor farms get a door at 2330. At 0300 i am loaded but short 72 cases of product they do not have and will not have this week. Try and call produce and it transfers to music then hangs up. So i call and get a night crew member who is no help and tells me I will just have to wait until produce comes to work. Yea right give me the night supervisor. He explains that they will want to load other product and i explain again I am the only person there. The crew went home and locked the doors as soon as i got my bills. Still had to wait the 3 hours for produce to come to work and tell me I can roll.

Since they have this rule, shouldn't produce be staffed 24 7?

Silly me, drivers don't matter they can set around and wait on the desk jockeys.

In wells neveda tonight and everything at bellas is 2 for 1 specials tonight. Always entertaining.

Got my load assignment today. Pickup in Pedricksburg, NJ tomorrow and deliver in San Antonio Tuesday. It has a stop off at Sysco in The Covenant (Denton) which is where they'll probably repower me.

Just to clear up any confusion, there is a clause within the contract that states you can purchase the truck as long as you are current on your payments and you give them 30 days notice of your intent to buy.

Flightwatch, i hope your assumption is correct. You said your truck would be ready on monday and you will be in texas. And the only thing important to stevens is getting that load delivered on time to san antonio. The drivers needs are unimportant until it is an emergency or a safety violation.

Yes there is a clause about purchasing the truck but if you dont have addendum D setting the price now, you will not like the price stevens asks if the tractor is less than r years old and less than 400,000 miles.

I have signed on with Stevens and will be heading to orientation on 1/20/12. I was refered to this thread by DenaliDad who said to read all 349 pages. Only to page 50 now and have to say I hope I can stay as positive about things as Smokr has. There is alot of great info on here. Thank to everyone for sharing.

Short version of my story....Been in retail for 20 some years. Lost my job as a Personel/Operations Manger a year ago last August. Didn't know what I was going to do next so I decided to go on a road trip to "find myself". I drove from Boston-WY-AZ-FL and back to Boston in 27 days with a total of 9800 miles, all by myself and never turned on the radio. I had never been west of Buffalo, NY before and was in awe every day as I drove west. When I got back I still didn't know what I was going to do with my life till it hit me one day. I loved the view and I loved to drive. I decided to go to NTTS in Liverpool, NY. Got my CDL and here I am.

When I signed the loaner lease 2 days ago, it stated the lease length was 1 week...which would make it expire next Wed. I am a glass half full kinda guy, and Steven's hasn't lied to me yet so I have no choice but to trust them on this. I really don't believe they are going to try to keep me in this other truck for any extended period...besides, the last driver was a disgusting pig who never cleaned anything. It was so bad, they threw away the mattresses...which means I'm getting hotels all the way down. If they were to try and keep me in this truck or give me another one, then they would still have to send somebody else after the truck here in Jersey.

As of yesterday, my truck had still not moved. The body shop manager said he was still waiting on Steven's to give him the go-ahead. If they were able to start on it First thing Wed, then it would have been ready by Monday. Considering it's Friday now, it probably wouldn't be ready until next Wed or Thurs...and that's if Steven's has said ok.

I got a pm this morning from somebody wanting me to list all the pro and cons of Stevens...I guess the search function is broken again.

Darned search function. If Stevens can fix trucks, you would think the TTR folks could fix that! :biggrin_25523:

Oh, wait. It's our "please do it for me" society! What they don't realize is it's the first test of your ability to plan a trip, get fooled, have the details change, plan again, get lost, plan again, and...

It's so much easier to ask for "the pros and cons" than to search...:biggrin_2559:

Made our delivery at 0345 this morning, then back to the TA for a nap. Had an OS&D issue. Seems they tried using a couple boxes of pasta for tire chalks.
So finally given the ok to throw them out.
Nothing wrong with the product, just the box. Too little to find a food bank, so put them by the barrels at the TA.
    Gone 10 minutes later.
    Got our load assignment.
Three dropper in LA on monday. DLD of 0230 sunday morning.
So that's 1017 stevens miles in about 28 hours.
Strapping my JATO bottles to the ferrings...
