EPA 2007 engines are more reliable. all new emission crap is not reliable
-
Exactly, alot of people bad mouth the mercedes motor but compared to some of the newer alternatives the mercedes doesn't look to bad after all.
-
I would say the nonEGR is more reliable of the MBE 4000s
-
How 'bout one with the EGR deleted
-
The parts are different on the EPA 2004 on engines.
My EGR MBE had nonEGR heads on it for about 200,000 ml.
After the change to EGR heads it became a problem motor. -
I have a 2006 mbe 4000 with a cracked block inside by #3 where the crank bolts down to the block 280,000 miles / 14 months out of warrenty
anybodyelse have this problem?? -
My advice to you is to avoid your ambulance chasing extortionist buddy and get a good workshop to deal with. Are you in the business of moving goods from A to B or being screwed over by smarmy gets using you as a pawn in game of never winning? These engines are easy to work and will give pretty decent service when treated properly
