Pulled in to a company called rent a can in Winston Salem N.C. Got in there yard and thought what the hell? thousands of, well, rent a cans. I have never seen so many crappers in one place in my life. I was told to back down next to a row and they proceded to load 26 defective crappers in my trailer. They did empty and clean them first, so they said. I got pulled in the back of a N.C. chicken coop and the cop ask's me for my bills, they were listed as Portable's, defective, return to manufactor. He asked me what they were, I told him, he wanted to see, i showed em. I asked if he wanted to climb up and inspect the cargo, he said that wouldn't be neccesary and sent me on my way. I did ask what the defect was, they told me the walls were too thin and you could see through them when the sun hit them right.

the scrap parer things is very common practice. Im on georgia pacific dedicated and i do 4-6 out bound WI loads a week. GP sends me to IL, IA, OH, pittsburg, and KY. they need to get us back asap for another outbound load from WI so its not uncommon to have 6-800 mile scrap paper loads back to wi. just like bottled water and paper rolls in maine. it would be EXTREMELY cheaper for maine shippers to load there stuff on containers that are going to chicago and west, but if they did no one would ever deliever to maine because there would be absolutely no backhauls out of there. kinda like miami or florida in general. -

Doing air freight short line San Diego to LAX. A load of small turtles, the kind I had when I was a kid. They had to be left on the ground B/4 going on a plan, a big to-do over salmonella, year was 1995 Don't know what they did with them.

Picked up a haxmat load of a chemical that had about every letter in the alphabet in it, Placard 1263 I believe, and around 6200 gallons. This stuff had a MSDS of toxic, cancer causing, flammable and about every thing else.
Took it to Philip Morris in Richmond Va. where they drummed it off wearing space suits. It is a additive for cigaretts! keeps the tobacco burning!
Now I know why I never started smoking!! -
