    hi lads im a newbie here. obviously from the name im irish and have only been in wa 2 months now. i have 9 years of trucking done all over europe and now im currently going through the motions of getting my WA licence. in your oppinion is it essintial that i do my licences in a road ranger or would synchro be ok as thats what im used to. i have no experience of driving a road ranger simply because we dont have them in ireland. thanks for any views or info you may have on this.

    You might get a better response in the Experienced Truckers Advice forum . It would help to know what carrier you plan on working for and what type transmission they use . Many of the major carriers are going to automated transmissions .

    I'd be inclined to do the test in a road ranger, if you do the test in a synchro, there will be a restriction noted on your licence.

    Depends on what kind of work you'll be doing - look into that before doing your test.
