Lesson to be learned, if you are creeped out on your first impression you should refuse to get into the truck. That is an awful experience, you need to make sure something gets done about this. Do NOT quit, if you do he wins. Stick around long enough for this jacknut to be dealt with, legally.

And why would you think someone that may or may not be totally literate not be able to be sexually harassed ? Sexual harassment does not require a college degree. Nor does it require one to be a victim of it. From her rather realistic description of what went on, I am inclined to believe it. It sounds exactly like what a low life "trainer/pervert" from a "low life " company (like Covenant) would do..Notice no one has commented on the fact that their "sterling" driver showed up on MSNBC to rape an under age child..So why don't you think the OP may be telling the truth..? This so called "Christian" company just hides behind religion to shield the fact that they are just low lifes..Heck, do a search, you can watch the segment yourself..The driver that was on the "Predator" segment was a convicted sex offender...So, do you really think that this so called "Christian" company has ANY standards ??

 

The trainer is most likely a serial offender at what he perceives to be an easy target. I believe her.

 

Well the first coherent move would have been to seek help from a truckstop mgr or call the dispatch, safety, police, anything but stay on, come on smells like BS

 

This would be true if a person happens to be intelligent enough. What if a sexually harassed person has a child's intellect? Also keep in mind that if a person is upset or traumatized enough, they may not be thinking clearly.

 

We may not have even been given the whole story. The trainer may have done something even worse to the OP than just what she shared; we just don't know. Sometimes it is too difficult for a woman to completely admit every single thing that actually went on in a case like this.

Or...like you basically said, it could all just be made up.

Based on what was said, though, I don't think we have enough information to say whether or not she should continue training. However, what I will say is that she should NOT continue training with this trainer under any circumstances and should in the future have a plan for when she may have to deal with some other creep(s).

 

...I spent 31 years in my previous life reviewing petitions and case law related to just such things. I am NOT unsympathetic to the abused; in fact, no one fought any harder for them than I and one of my programs did. But, after reading and hearing literally thousands of such accusations, I developed an ability to recognize BS.

Now, I'm not saying it could NOT happen. I'm just saying that this particular account presents nothing to cause me to have confidence in it. Further, if it did, then the Perp should be *#)@!!&%$#% and have his *&#)!!% Bobbitted.

 

Quite true..Rape victims do not always act rationally after the act..Not that I am saying a rape occurred, but put yourself in the OP's shoes for a minute..New job, new "career", finally out of Wally World thinking you may have finally done something good for your self or your life. You start out, all is good and then..The innuendo's, the "sly talk" on the side, then you start noticing the sleazier side of trucking...Then, the comments about "genitalia" and needs...(for lack of a better term-sorry) . Then, I'm quite sure the out right "sleep with me or I'll fail ya" was on it's way..I'm a guy..And for a few years as a part time job, I taught truck driving at Oxnard Community College. Many of my students were female. Most were transitioning from an office job that didn't pay much in hopes of making more for their families. Many were single mothers. I never thought of sex ever entering into the equation. They just wanted a decent job. I treated all the students the same..And it was a hard course..16 weeks, tests every day etc. I'm proud of my female students (actually all of them)..They went on to decent jobs with SCE, major grocery chains and oil companies. Many went OTR because that is what they wanted..But, sex never entered into the picture..And I have NO tolerance for anyone that would take advantage of a situation like this. If this was your daughter, would you want them to tolerate this ?
